Even with Sprint's vanilla "Vision Network" data access plan, you can use Bluetooth Dial-Up Networking (DUN) to access the internets with your laptop and mobile phone. I have a Treo 755p. I get 150-600 kbps down and 10-60 kbps up.
Pairing your mobile phone and your Mac is easy. (If you have a Windows PC, God help you.) The hard part is actually finding the DUN access info on Sprint's web site. So here it is:
